We can. We build the applications, data pipelines, and hosting a young company runs on, and we work with Somerville teams from our studio in Shrewsbury.
A Shrewsbury studio for Somerville's new companies
Union Square growth
Does Kief Studio work in Somerville? Yes.
Kief Studio builds and hosts software for Somerville companies, including the climate tech and lab teams arriving in Union Square. Our studio is in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and that is where we do the work.
Somerville has pushed for commercial development so businesses carry more of the tax load and residents carry less. The city's 2025 report lists zoning and a community benefit agreement for 1.5 million square feet of climate technology lab and office space in Union Square.
A company setting up in that space needs its applications written and its servers kept alive. Our lead offer is managed hosting on LTFI: we build the application, host it on dedicated infrastructure, and stay on it after launch.
